Separated Families Policy

Separated Families Policy

The KidsSmile team’s primary focuses are the oral health needs, and optimal treatment outcomes for the children in our care.

Communication issues within families can impair these goals. It is our expectation that families work respectfully and collaboratively to  achieve the best outcome for their child.

Any court orders or relevant legal documents should be provided as soon as possible and updated with us, should they change.

If only one parent/guardian is able to attend an appointment, it is that parent/guardian’s responsibility to provide all relevant information to the other party, unless this is contrary to directions specified in court documents.

If the alternate parent/guardian wishes to speak with the specialist, another appointment will need to be made and associated fees paid. We will happily provide a duplicate set of all written information given at the time of consult.

Payment is required at the time of the appointment. If there is a legal agreement that the parent/guardian not attending the appointment pays medical/dental expenses, it is the responsibility of the adult attending the appointment to pay and then seek compensation from the other party.
